Will Noah Save Us from the Climate Crisis?
The ancient story of Noah with his Ark, who saves him from the flood with the animals, is still used in the image of great needs that are coming our way.
The current climate crisis raises the questions: ‘Who is responsible for the earth?’ And also “How do we leave the earth for the generations that come after us?”. Then the Noah story turns out to be surprisingly topical. As the first known climate victim, he chose to take action himself.
In the course “Noah”, co-written by Corinne Groenendijk, questions are also asked about responsibility, about frameworks for living together with (living) nature, and hope and perspective are outlined. The question always arises: can we learn something from Noah and the way he deals with all these challenges?
Corinne Groenendijk (1964) is a pastor (PKN) and spiritual director. In addition to themed services, she provides retreats, lectures and workshops. As an author she wrote the book EnduringTogether with Francis. In doing so, she shows that sustainability can go hand in hand with inspiration and faith.
